You must be at least 16 years old to apply for learners permit. You must clear a vision test, pass a traffic laws and road signs test, and pay the required fee to receive your learners permit. The minimum acceptable vision for non-commercial license is 20/60 in one eye, with or without corrective lenses.

To get your Drivers License, you need demonstrate satisfactory operation of a motor vehicle and clear any physical or mental examination the DMV may find necessary to gauge your ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Teens: Applicants under the age of 18 years need to present proof of the following :
- Completion of Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP)
- Satisfaction of school attendance and conduct requirements
- Proof of completion of a DDS-approved driver education program
- Evidence of at least forty (40) hours of supervised driving, including 6 hours of night driving.
